More about Chris

Chris Godfredsen is a 1992 graduate of Northwestern College (Orange City, Iowa) and 2020 graduate of Western Theological Seminary (M.Div., Holland, MI). Chris spent the early years of his adult life in pursuit of building a small-town newspaper empire, publishing newspapers in Pocahontas, Albert City, Sibley, and Rock Valley (all in Iowa), as well as Canton, SD. He entered full-time ministry in 2012 and served more than 40 churches throughout the region, focusing on health and multiplication. During this season, he was pastor to pastors and honed his coaching skills. In September of 2021, he became a campus pastor at Centerpoint Church, where he still serves. He is a Faithwalking facilitator and coach, the chair of the Faithwalking Central Board of Directors, and has served on variety of boards and teams throughout his professional life.

Chris married Kathy on August 7, 1992 - the same date (8/7) on the calendar as each of their parents! Chris & Kathy successfully raised four children, two of which are still in their college years. The oldest two have not moved home, which is why Chris says they have successfully raised their children! The best part of living, for Chris and Kathy, has become falling in love with their three granddaughters - Eden (4), Avryn (3), and Maven (4 mos.). Friends, there is nothing better than grandchildren.

During his free-time, Chris loves hanging out with Kathy, finding locally-owned restaurants and micro-breweries, and riding road bike. He can be found spinning to nowhere in his basement during the winter months in Iowa, or on a blacktop in the spring or summer. He also loves the Atlanta Braves, Iowa State Cyclones and cheering on his fantasy football team in the fall.
