More about Kurt

Kurt is a graduate of Western Theological Seminary (M.Div) in Holland, Michigan. Prior to seminary, however, Kurt spent the early part of his career working for a large manufacturing company in various roles within a production plant. At the same time, Kurt began growing and honing his leadership skills while serving in various leadership roles within his local church. It was there that Kurt discerned his call into both seminary and full-time vocational ministry. During seminary, Kurt served in his first vocational ministry role in a church in the Quad Cities (IA/IL), before following God’s call to serve a church in Sioux County, IA (Trinity Reformed Church) in November 2019. In this role (Campus Pastor), Kurt helped lead a campus “enfolding,” which meant guiding and coaching leaders through the closing of one church, and the implementation and installation of an entirely new culture as a new campus of an established church. Kurt also currently serves as a Faithwalking facilitator, and serves on the board of directors of a local non-profit organization.

Kurt and his wife, Amber, were married in May of 2006, and have 2 children; Cooper and Ella. Kurt and Amber are both celebrating AND navigating all of the life changes that come with the new chapter of life parenting a teen and a tween! They love spending time together, especially at ballparks and playing games!

When not coaching and pastoring, Kurt loves to watch and listen to (yes, like on the radio) baseball, specifically Boston Red Sox baseball. If he’s not caught up in the radio broadcast of a baseball game, it’s likely he will be either on his gravel bike, mountain bike, or maybe climbing at the local indoor rock climbing gym with Amber. Kurt, along with Amber, also owns and operates Mingo, a music Bingo entertainment company that specializes in hosting eterntainment events in local restaurants and breweries.
